Bruce Murray

H. Bruce Murray, M. A. (Hons), Dip. Ed., F.C.I.S., has been associated with the Cripps Foundation for over 25 years, having been Chairman from 2010 to May 2015. He also sits on the Philanthropy Committee of the Foundation.


Mr. Murray came to Bermuda from Aberdeen, Scotland in 1970 and lectured in History at Bermuda College. In 1980 he joined the law firm of Conyers, Dill and Pearman as Corporate Manager, thus commencing his second career as a specialist practitioner in Bermuda's international business sector. In that capacity, Mr. Murray acted as company secretary and as a director of many of the largest exempted companies in Bermuda until his retirement in 2004.


Mr. Murray continues to be actively involved in corporate governance. He is a member of the International Council of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators ("ICSA") and is a member of that body's Constitutional Agreements Committee. He is the immediate Past President of the Canadian Division of ICSA and was the Founding Chairman of the Bermuda Branch of ICSA, Canada. Mr. Murray also lectures locally and in the Caribbean on governance matters.


Throughout his career, Mr. Murray has been keenly involved in the community. He is a past chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bermuda High School for Girls, a past president of the Hamilton Rotary Club, a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, and he sat on the Executive Committee of the (then) Bermuda Maritime Museum. He is currently the Company Secretary and a Director of P.A.L.S., the Bermuda cancer care charity.
